Saltillo is a town in Lee County, Mississippi, United States, with a population of 4,752 as of the 2020 census. It is located in northeastern Mississippi, approximately 20 miles (32 km) east of Tupelo and 60 miles (97 km) south of Memphis, Tennessee. The town was founded in 1836 and named after the Mexican city of Saltillo. The climate is humid subtropical, with hot, humid summers and mild winters. The average temperature in July is 84 °F (29 °C), and the average temperature in January is 43 °F (6 °C). The town has a rich history and heritage, and is home to several historic buildings, including the Saltillo Methodist Church, which was built in 1854.
