Saint-Étienne-de-Montluc is a commune in the Loire-Atlantique department in western France, in the Pays de la Loire region. The village is located in the far west of the department, close to the border with Morbihan, and is about 30 km northwest of Nantes. The climate is temperate, with mild winters and warm summers. The village has a long history, dating back to the Gallo-Roman period. In the Middle Ages, it was a stronghold of the Dukes of Brittany. The village is home to a number of historical monuments, including the 12th-century church of Saint-Étienne and the 15th-century Château de Montluc.
