Rüssingen is a municipality in the district of Alzey-Worms in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is located approximately 8 kilometers southwest of Alzey, and 20 kilometers southwest of Mainz. The municipality has a population of approximately 2,000 people. The climate in Rüssingen is temperate, with average temperatures ranging from 0°C in January to 20°C in July. The municipality has a rich history, dating back to the Middle Ages. The first documentary mention of Rüssingen was in 1255. The municipality was part of the Electorate of the Palatinate until 1803, when it became part of the Grand Duchy of Hesse. In 1866, Rüssingen became part of the Kingdom of Prussia. After World War II, Rüssingen became part of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate.
