Rupert is a city in Minidoka County, Idaho, United States, with a population of 5,554 as of the 2010 census. It is located in the Magic Valley region of southern Idaho, at the junction of Interstate 84 and U.S. Route 30. The city was founded in 1904 and named after Rupert Blue, a prominent irrigation engineer who helped to develop the area. Rupert has a humid continental climate, with hot summers and cold winters. The average annual temperature is 50.8 degrees Fahrenheit, and the average annual precipitation is 13.4 inches.
