Ruffiac, also known as Rufieg, is a commune in the Ille-et-Vilaine department of Brittany in northwestern France. It is located at an elevation of 100 meters (328 feet) and has a population of 3,667. The climate is temperate, with average temperatures ranging from 6°C (43°F) in January to 22°C (72°F) in July. Ruffiac has a long history, dating back to the Gallo-Roman period. It was part of the Duchy of Brittany from the 9th to the 15th centuries and was annexed by France in 1532. The town is home to several historical sites, including the Château de Ruffiac, which was built in the 15th century.
