Roye is a commune in the Somme department in Hauts-de-France in northern France. It is located on the A1 autoroute, about halfway between Paris and Lille. The climate is temperate, with mild winters and warm summers. Roye has a long history, dating back to the Roman era. It was an important center of the wool trade in the Middle Ages, and it was also a major battleground during the Franco-Prussian War.
