Rouses Point is a village in Clinton County, New York, United States. It is located on the Canada–US border, at the northern end of Lake Champlain. The village has a population of 2,159 as of the 2010 census. Rouses Point was founded in 1785 by John Rouses, a Loyalist who fled the United States after the American Revolution. The village was originally known as Rouses Four Corners. In 1812, the village was renamed Rouses Point in honor of its founder. Rouses Point is home to the Rouses Point–Alburgh Border Crossing, which is one of the busiest land border crossings between the United States and Canada. The village is also home to the Clinton County Historical Museum, which houses a collection of artifacts and documents related to the history of Clinton County.
