Rottenacker is a municipality in the district of Biberach, in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is located at an elevation of 530 meters (1,739 feet) above sea level, in the Swabian Jura mountains. The municipality has a population of around 2,000 people. Rottenacker was first mentioned in a document in 1127, and it was granted town rights in 1331. The town was a member of the Swabian League from 1376 to 1534, and it was a free imperial city from 1534 to 1803. Rottenacker was annexed by the Kingdom of Württemberg in 1803, and it became part of the German Empire in 1871. After World War II, Rottenacker became part of the state of Baden-Württemberg.
