Rodriguez, formerly known as Montalban, is a municipality in the Calabarzon region of the Philippines. It is located in the eastern part of Metro Manila, bounded by the cities of San Mateo, Quezon City, and Marikina. The municipality has a tropical climate with an average temperature of 27°C. Rodriguez has a rich history dating back to the Spanish colonial period. It was originally inhabited by the Aeta people, and was later settled by Spanish missionaries in the 16th century. The municipality played an important role in the Philippine Revolution against Spain, and was the site of the Battle of Montalban in 1898. Rodriguez is known for its cultural heritage, which includes the Morong Church, the Rodriguez Museum, and the Rodriguez Heritage Park.
