Rodeo, California is a small unincorporated community located in Contra Costa County, California, United States, at the junction of State Route 4 and State Route 242. The town has a Mediterranean climate, with warm, dry summers and mild, wet winters. Rodeo was founded in 1852 as a shipping point for cattle and other livestock, and it was later developed as a major oil refinery town. Today, Rodeo is a quiet community with a population of around 2,500 people.
