Rødding is a town in South Denmark, Denmark, located in the Vejen Municipality, Region of Southern Denmark. The town has a population of 2,629 (as of 1 January 2022) and is situated on the Jutland peninsula, approximately 20 kilometers north of the city of Kolding. Rødding has a temperate climate with warm summers and cold winters. The town has a rich history and heritage, dating back to the Viking Age. Rødding was first mentioned in written sources in 1173, and it was granted market town status in 1442. The town played an important role in the Danish-Prussian War of 1848-1850, and it was the site of the Battle of Rødding in 1848.
