Robecq is a commune in the Nord department in northern France. It is located in the canton of Hazebrouck-Sud and the arrondissement of Dunkirk. The climate is temperate oceanic with mild winters and warm summers. The average annual temperature is 10.5 °C (50.9 °F) and the average annual rainfall is 700 mm (27.6 in). Robecq has a rich history dating back to the Middle Ages. It was first mentioned in a charter in 1128 and was granted a charter of privileges by the Count of Flanders in 1248. The town was fortified in the 14th century and was besieged several times during the Hundred Years' War. In the 16th century, Robecq became a centre of the Protestant Reformation. The town was heavily damaged during the First World War and was rebuilt in the 1920s.
