Rich Hill, Missouri, is a small town in Bates County with a population of 1,390 as of 2010. It is located in west-central Missouri, approximately 60 miles southeast of Kansas City. The town was founded in 1870 and named after Richard J. Hill, a local landowner. Rich Hill is known for its rich history and heritage, as well as its beautiful scenery. The town is home to several historic buildings, including the Rich Hill Opera House and the Bates County Courthouse.
