Rhoon, also known as Roon, is a village in the Dutch province of South Holland. It is located on the south bank of the Nieuwe Maas river, about 10 kilometers (6 miles) southwest of Rotterdam. The weather in Rhoon is typically mild and temperate, with average temperatures ranging from 3°C (37°F) in January to 18°C (64°F) in July. The village has a long and rich history, dating back to the 13th century. It was once a thriving fishing and trading port, and later became a center for shipbuilding and industry. Rhoon's heritage is reflected in its many historic buildings, including the 14th-century Reformed Church and the 17th-century Town Hall.
