It is situated at the intersection of PA Route 272 and PA Route 897, approximately 10 miles east of Lancaster city. The town has a humid subtropical climate, with hot, humid summers and cold, snowy winters. Reamstown was founded in 1734 by Jacob Ream, a Mennonite farmer from Switzerland. The town's heritage is primarily German and Swiss, and its residents are known for their strong work ethic and sense of community.
