Qostanay, also known as Kostanay, is a city in northern Kazakhstan, located on the Tobol River, approximately 530 kilometers northwest of Nur-Sultan. The city has a humid continental climate with hot summers and cold winters, with temperatures ranging from -20°C in January to 25°C in July. Qostanay was founded in 1879 as a Russian fortress and became a city in 1893. It is a major industrial center and transportation hub, with a rich history and cultural heritage.
