Qiping, Jiangxi, China, located at latitude 28.6654900 and longitude 114.2044100, is a town in the southwest of Jiangxi Province, China. The town has a subtropical monsoon climate, with an average annual temperature of 17.5°C (63.5°F) and average annual precipitation of 1,420 mm (56 in). Qiping has a long history, dating back to the Qin Dynasty (221-206 BC). The town was once a major trading center on the Silk Road. Qiping is also home to a number of historical sites, including the Qiping Temple, which was built in the Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD).
