Qiaowa, Sichuan, China, formerly known as Muli, is a county-level city in the southwest of the province, bordering Yunnan to the west. The region experiences a humid subtropical climate with an average annual temperature of 14.3°C (57.7°F) and annual precipitation of 938 mm (36.9 in). Its rich history dates back to the ancient Qiang people, and it was once a stronghold of Tibetan Buddhism, with numerous monasteries and temples still standing today.
