Puyallup is a city located in Pierce County, Washington, United States, approximately 35 miles south of Seattle and 10 miles east of Tacoma. The city is known for its annual Puyallup Fair, one of the largest fairs in the United States, which features agricultural exhibits, livestock competitions, and carnival rides. Puyallup has a humid subtropical climate with mild, wet winters and warm, dry summers. The city was originally inhabited by the Puyallup Tribe of Indians, and its name is derived from the Native American word for "generous people."
