Pressig is a municipality in the district of Kronach in Bavaria, Germany. It is located in the Franconian Forest Nature Park, at an altitude of 500 meters (1,640 ft) above sea level. The average annual temperature in Pressig is 8.2 °C (46.8 °F), and the average annual precipitation is 750 mm (29.5 in). The municipality has a population of around 1,800 people. Pressig was first mentioned in a document in 1007. In the Middle Ages, it was part of the County of Henneberg. In 1583, it became part of the Margraviate of Bayreuth. In 1806, it became part of the Kingdom of Bavaria. Pressig is home to a number of historical buildings, including the parish church of St. Martin, which was built in the 15th century.
