Port Dickinson is a village located in Broome County, New York, United States, just north of the city of Binghamton. The village has a population of 1,551 as of the 2020 census. Port Dickinson is located on the Susquehanna River and is home to several parks and recreation areas. The village has a humid continental climate with warm, humid summers and cold, snowy winters. Port Dickinson was founded in 1806 by John Dickinson, a Revolutionary War veteran. The village was originally known as Dickinson's Landing and was a major port on the Susquehanna River. In the early 1900s, Port Dickinson became a popular summer resort destination. Today, Port Dickinson is a quiet residential community with a strong sense of history and heritage.
