Port Dickinson is located on the Susquehanna River and is home to several parks and recreation areas. The village has a humid continental climate with warm, humid summers and cold, snowy winters. Port Dickinson was founded in 1806 by John Dickinson, a Revolutionary War veteran. The village was originally known as Dickinson's Landing and was a major port on the Susquehanna River.
