Pörnbach is a municipality in the Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm district, in Bavaria, Germany. It is located at an elevation of 403 meters above sea level, and has a population of around 2,100 people. The municipality is situated in the Donau-Isar Hügelland, a region of rolling hills and forests. The climate is temperate, with average temperatures ranging from -1°C in January to 18°C in July. The municipality was first mentioned in the 11th century, and its history is closely tied to the nearby monastery of Scheyern. The municipality is home to several historic buildings, including the 12th-century Romanesque church of St. Martin and the 18th-century Baroque castle of Pörnbach.
