Pomona, California, is a city located in the Pomona Valley, approximately 30 miles east of Los Angeles. The city is known for its Mediterranean climate, with warm, dry summers and mild, wet winters. Pomona has a rich history dating back to the Tongva people, who inhabited the area for thousands of years before European settlers arrived in the 18th century. The city was founded in 1888 and named after the Roman goddess of fruit trees, Pomona.
