Plouharnel is a commune in the Morbihan department of Brittany in northwestern France. It is located on the south coast of Brittany, about 20 kilometers (12 miles) west of Lorient. The weather in Plouharnel is mild and temperate, with average temperatures ranging from 7°C (45°F) in January to 22°C (72°F) in August. The commune has a rich history, dating back to the Neolithic period. It was first mentioned in writing in the 11th century, and it has been an important fishing port since the Middle Ages.
