Pine Plains, New York, is a town in Dutchess County with a population of 2,445 (2010). It is located in the Hudson Valley region of New York State, approximately 70 miles north of New York City. The town has a humid continental climate with hot, humid summers and cold, snowy winters. Pine Plains was originally settled by the Dutch in the 17th century and was known as "Pine Bush" until 1836. The town's heritage is reflected in its many historic buildings, including the Pine Plains Reformed Church (1764) and the Pine Plains Inn (1812).
