Philippsreut is a municipality in the district of Freyung-Grafenau in Bavaria, Germany. It is located in the Bavarian Forest, at the foot of the Rachel mountain, and has a population of around 700. The municipality was first mentioned in 1374 and was named after Philipp von Falkenstein, the bishop of Passau.
