Perlez is a village in Serbia, located in the municipality of Plandište, South Banat District, Vojvodina province. The village is situated in the Pannonian Plain, at an elevation of 82 meters above sea level. The climate is humid continental, with hot summers and cold winters. The average annual temperature is 11.2 °C (52.2 °F), and the average annual precipitation is 635 mm (25 in). Perlez was first mentioned in 1332 as Perlasz. The village was part of the Ottoman Empire from 1526 to 1718, and then part of the Habsburg Monarchy until 1918. After World War I, Perlez became part of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, and then part of Serbia in 1992. The village is home to a number of historical and cultural sites, including the Serbian Orthodox Church of St. Nicholas, which was built in 1783.
