Peiting is a municipality in the Weilheim-Schongau district, Bavaria, Germany. It is located in the Pfaffenwinkel region, about 15 kilometers southwest of Weilheim in Oberbayern. The municipality has a population of around 11,000 and covers an area of 76 square kilometers. The climate is temperate, with average temperatures ranging from -1°C in January to 18°C in July. Peiting has a long history, dating back to the 12th century. The municipality was first mentioned in a document in 1147. In the 16th century, Peiting became a center of the Lutheran Reformation. The municipality is home to a number of historical buildings, including the Pfarrkirche St. Michael, which was built in the 15th century.
