Pastrana is a municipality in the province of Guadalajara, in the autonomous community of Castilla-La Mancha, Spain. It is located in the Alcarria region, at an altitude of 775 meters above sea level. The climate is Mediterranean, with hot summers and cold winters. The town has a rich history and heritage, dating back to the Middle Ages. It was once an important center of the wool trade and was home to a number of convents and monasteries. The most famous of these is the Convento de San Francisco, which was founded in the 15th century and is now a national monument.
