Parma, Ohio is a city located in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, United States. It is a suburb of Cleveland and is located approximately 10 miles southwest of downtown Cleveland. The city has a population of approximately 81,000 people and is the seventh largest city in Ohio. Parma was founded in 1816 by a group of settlers from Connecticut. The city was named after Parma, Italy. The city's early economy was based on agriculture, but it later became a major industrial center. Parma is home to a number of large corporations, including General Electric, Ford Motor Company, and Sherwin-Williams. The city is also home to a number of cultural attractions, including the Parma Symphony Orchestra and the Parma Art Center.
