The name was later changed to Owensville. The town is home to the Owensville Historic District, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The district includes a number of historic buildings, including the Owensville Courthouse, which was built in 1856. The town is also home to the Owensville Museum, which houses a collection of artifacts and documents related to the town's history.
