Ousse is a commune in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of southwestern France. It is located in the Ossau Valley, at the foot of the Pyrenees mountains. The climate is temperate oceanic, with mild winters and warm summers. The commune has a rich history, dating back to the Roman era. It was part of the Visigothic Kingdom of Toulouse from the 5th to the 8th centuries, and was later ruled by the Counts of Bigorre. In the 13th century, Ousse became part of the Kingdom of Navarre. It was ceded to France in 1620. The commune's heritage includes the Church of Saint-Pierre, which dates back to the 12th century, and the Château de Bellocq, which was built in the 14th century.
