Otisville is a hamlet located in the town of Mount Hope, Orange County, New York, United States. The hamlet is situated at the intersection of New York State Route 211 and County Route 75, approximately 6 miles (9.7 km) west of Middletown. The climate of Otisville is humid continental, with hot, humid summers and cold, snowy winters. The area was originally inhabited by the Lenape Native Americans. In the 17th century, Dutch settlers established a trading post in the area. The hamlet was officially founded in 1807 and named after Otis Arnold, a local landowner. Otisville has a rich history and heritage, with many historic buildings and sites located in the hamlet.
