Orxeta, also known as Orcheta, is a municipality in the Valencian Community, Spain. It is located in the comarca of Marina Baixa, in the province of Alicante, and is situated on the slopes of the Sierra de Aitana, at an altitude of 187 meters above sea level. The town has a Mediterranean climate, with hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters. It has a rich history and heritage, with evidence of human occupation dating back to the Bronze Age. The town was founded by the Moors in the 10th century, and was later conquered by the Christians in the 13th century. It is home to several notable landmarks, including the 14th-century Iglesia de San Bartolomé, the 16th-century Ermita de San Roque, and the 18th-century Casa de la Vila.
