Orcera is a municipality in the province of Jaén, Andalusia, Spain. It is located in the Sierra de Segura mountains, at an altitude of 886 meters above sea level. The climate is typically Mediterranean, with hot, dry summers and mild, rainy winters. Orcera has a rich history, dating back to the Neolithic period. The town was founded by the Romans in the 2nd century BC, and was later conquered by the Moors in the 8th century. It was reconquered by the Christians in the 13th century, and became part of the Kingdom of Castile. Orcera has a number of historical monuments, including the Castle of Orcera, the Church of Santa María de la Asunción, and the Convent of San Francisco.
