Old Brookville, New York, is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) in Nassau County, New York, United States, located on Long Island's North Shore, 35 miles (56 km) east of Manhattan. It is known for its large estates and historic homes, many of which were built in the 19th and early 20th centuries. The climate is humid subtropical, with hot, humid summers and cold, snowy winters. The area has a rich history dating back to the 17th century, when it was settled by Dutch and English colonists. It was originally known as Brookville, but the name was changed to Old Brookville in 1897 to distinguish it from the nearby village of Brookville.
