Oktyabr'sk, formerly Kandagach, is a city in Kazakhstan, located in the northwestern part of the country, in the Aktobe Region. The city has a continental climate with cold winters and hot summers. Oktyabr'sk was founded in 1939 as a mining settlement and was named after the October Revolution. The city is home to a number of historical and cultural sites, including the Oktyabr'sk Museum of Local History and the Oktyabr'sk Art Gallery.
