Okhansk is a town in Perm Krai, Russia, located at the confluence of the Kama and Obva rivers, 125 kilometers southeast of Perm. It has a population of 7,300 (2010). The town was founded in 1596 as a fort to protect the border of the Russian state from the raids of the Bashkirs and Tatars. In the 18th century, it became a center of trade and industry, and in the 19th century, it was a major producer of salt and timber. Today, Okhansk is a quiet town with a rich history and heritage.
