Odintsovo is a city in the Moscow Oblast of Russia, located 23 kilometers west of Moscow. The city has a population of 138,912 (2010) and is the administrative center of Odintsovsky District. Odintsovo was first mentioned in 1470 and was granted city status in 1957. The city is home to a number of historical and cultural sites, including the Nikolo-Arkhangelsky Cathedral, the Church of the Assumption, and the Odintsovo Museum of Local Lore. The city is also home to a number of parks and recreation areas, including the Odintsovsky Park of Culture and Rest and the Meshchersky National Park. The climate of Odintsovo is humid continental, with warm summers and cold winters. The average temperature in January is -10°C (14°F), and the average temperature in July is 18°C (64°F).
