Nueva-Carteya is a municipality in the province of Córdoba, Andalusia, Spain. It is located in the eastern part of the province, on the northern slopes of the Sierra Morena mountains. The town is situated at an altitude of 456 meters above sea level and has a population of around 3,500 inhabitants. The climate of Nueva-Carteya is typically Mediterranean, with hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters. The history of Nueva-Carteya dates back to the Roman period, when it was known as Carteia.
