North Myrtle Beach is a city in Horry County, South Carolina, United States, with a population of 14,709 as of the 2020 census. The city is located on the Atlantic coast of South Carolina, about 10 miles (16 km) north of Myrtle Beach. North Myrtle Beach has a humid subtropical climate, with hot, humid summers and mild winters. The city's history dates back to the early 1800s, when it was known as Little River. In 1968, Little River was incorporated as North Myrtle Beach. The city has a strong heritage in tourism, and is home to several popular beaches, golf courses, and other attractions.
