Noreña is a municipality in the province of Asturias, Spain. It is located in the central part of the region, about 20 km south of the city of Oviedo. The municipality has a population of around 5,000 people and covers an area of 54.1 km². The climate is temperate, with average temperatures ranging from 10°C in January to 25°C in August. The history of Noreña dates back to the Roman era, when it was known as Flavionavia. The town was later ruled by the Visigoths and the Moors, before being reconquered by the Christians in the 10th century. Noreña is home to a number of historical monuments, including the Church of Santa María de la Corte, which was built in the 12th century.
