Nicoma Park is a small city in Oklahoma County, Oklahoma, United States. It is located just east of Oklahoma City and is part of the Oklahoma City metropolitan area. The city has a population of about 2,400 people and is known for its strong sense of community and its many parks and recreational facilities. Nicoma Park has a humid subtropical climate with hot, humid summers and mild winters. The city was founded in 1901 by a group of Choctaw Indians who were looking for a place to live after being forced to leave their homes in Mississippi. The city was named after Nicoma, a Choctaw chief who had led his people to the area.
