New Eagle is a borough in Washington County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is located along the Ohio River, about 20 miles (32 km) northwest of Pittsburgh. The borough has a population of 2,115 as of the 2010 census. The climate in New Eagle is humid continental, with hot, humid summers and cold, snowy winters. The borough was founded in 1815 by James Eagle, a veteran of the War of 1812. It was originally called Eagle's Nest, but the name was later changed to New Eagle. The borough is home to several historical sites, including the New Eagle Historic District, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
