Neuerkirch is a municipality in the district of Cochem-Zell, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is located in the Hunsrück Mountains, approximately 10 kilometers northeast of Cochem. The village has a population of around 300 people and is known for its scenic location and historic buildings. The weather in Neuerkirch is temperate, with warm summers and mild winters. The village has a long history, dating back to the Middle Ages. It was first mentioned in a document from 1220 and was originally part of the County of Sponheim. In the 16th century, Neuerkirch became part of the Archbishopric of Trier. The village was heavily damaged during the Thirty Years' War and was rebuilt in the 18th century. Neuerkirch is home to a number of historic buildings, including the Baroque church of St. Martin and the Renaissance castle of Schloss Neuerkirch.
