Mueang Chan, also known as Amphoe Mueang Chan, is a district in Sisaket Province, Thailand. It is located in the northeastern part of the province, bordering Ubon Ratchathani Province to the north, Khukhan District to the east, Khun Han District to the south, and Rasi Salai District to the west. The district covers an area of 428.9 km² and has a population of 53,184 (2020). The weather in Mueang Chan is tropical, with a wet season from May to October and a dry season from November to April. The average temperature is 28 °C (82 °F). Mueang Chan has a long history, dating back to the Khmer Empire. The district was established in 1917. The district is home to several historical sites, including the ruins of the ancient Khmer city of Phimai and the Wat Pa Maha Chedi Kaew temple.
