Mstera is a village in Vladimir Oblast, Russia, located on the left bank of the Kliazma River, 120 kilometers northeast of Moscow. The village has a population of about 4,000 people. The climate is humid continental, with cold winters and warm summers. The average temperature in January is -10°C, and the average temperature in July is +18°C. The village was founded in the 17th century by Old Believers who fled from religious persecution. Mstera is known for its traditional lacquer miniature painting, which is a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
