Mount Morris is a village in Livingston County, New York, United States. It is located at the confluence of the Genesee River and Canaseraga Creek, 25 miles (40 km) south of Rochester. The village was founded in 1794 by Oliver Phelps and Nathaniel Gorham, and was originally known as Big Tree. The name was changed to Mount Morris in 1811. The village is home to the Mount Morris Dam, which was built in 1952 to provide flood control and hydroelectric power. The village has a population of 3,031 (2010 census).
