Mount Juliet is a city in Wilson County, Tennessee, United States, located 17 miles (27 km) east-northeast of Nashville. The city has a population of 33,942 as of the 2020 census. Mount Juliet is part of the Nashville metropolitan area. The city is named after Mount Juliet, a nearby hill that was named after Juliet, the heroine of William Shakespeare's play Romeo and Juliet. The city was founded in 1835 and incorporated in 1966. Mount Juliet has a humid subtropical climate with hot, humid summers and mild winters. The city is home to several parks and recreation areas, including the Mount Juliet Municipal Park and the Providence Recreation Area.
