Montemayor is a municipality in the province of Córdoba, Andalusia, Spain, located at an altitude of 198 m above sea level and with a population of 3,925 (2020). The municipality has a total area of 58.03 km2. The weather is characterized by hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters. The municipality was founded in the 13th century by King Alfonso X of Castile and is home to a number of historical monuments, including the Church of Santa María de la Asunción, the Convent of San Francisco, and the Castle of Montemayor.
